A lot to cheer for!

The day started off like any other day. We all loaded up in the car and we were off to school. Out of nowhere WHAM....deer in the headlights. Seriously I mean there was a huge deer in my headlights. I got my first deer today. Not so exciting I will tell you! I was in shock for a moment. Then I called Greg to tell him to come get us. Kennedy was fine. She was still munching on her cracker and Whit was as happy as could be. I didn't break down until Greg got there. We were all fine and that is the important thing. My car is not so fine. The whole front end is missing. I am just thankful my family was ok! It could have been a lot worse!

We didn't let a deer get us down for long! We were off to the fall festival at church tonight. Kennedy was a cheerleader, following in her mommy's footsteps. :) Whit was a dragon or a dinosaur (we are not sure what it is) and he was so cute! The kids had fun. K was of course scared to death of some things including one of her best friends, Mathis, because he was dressed in a horse costume and looked too much like a horse! I think they had a fun time! It was cold! I love it!

22 Months....the world turns too fast!

My sweet Kennedy turned 22 months old today! I have a hard time when people ask how old she is. It seems weird to still be listing months but she is so not 2 yet! I am not ready for that! We went out for a little running time tonight and I took a few sweet pictures. It was cold out there!!

This is also a special remembrance day for me. October 28 was my very first due date. It is a day that for so many months I dreaded and worried that I would never get to enjoy ever again. I mean seriously I didn't know if I would ever enjoy life again. And as I stand here three years later I can see how God's plans are so much greater than our own. I have so much in my life and I am so much more blessed than I would have ever known I would be. I will forever wonder if Kennedy will ever know how much we prayed and prayed for her. Will she ever know how I feel when I look at her? I hope she never knows the pain I went through but maybe she will someday know my true love for her. I spend my days in the busy world of two kids under two and I don't stop much lately. But at night I always linger a little longer when I tuck them in. I hug them a little extra and kiss them one extra time. They are my greatest joy and my biggest blessings I have ever been given. So tonight I can smile and celebrate my sweet Kennedy. I can celebrate God's blessings. I can see how such pain can turn to great joy. I can see how sorrow can turn to celebration. Thank you Kennedy for making my life what it is today. You bring our home a joy that I so longed for. Your life will forever be my miracle. I love you!

At 22 months you
* Talk ALL the time! And when I say all the time, I mean you even talk yourself to sleep!
* You like to sleep later and later. We'll go in to wake you up and you roll over and say no, tired!
* You are now obsessed with fruit snacks and not yogurt raisins. You have moved on!
*You are getting very opinionated. You sometimes refuse to get dressed or hate what you are wearing.
* You can "sort of" sing the alphabet!
* You love your brother so much! Last night you kept patting his head saying, "sweetheart, sweetheart!"
* Your favorite toy is still a baby. You take such good care of them!
* Your favorite food is broccoli. I wonder how long that will last?!!
* You crack us up at least once a day with the things you say! Crazy girl!

Aaaahhh the weather!

They are pretty darn cute aren't they? This is K's fake smile. It makes me laugh really hard. I will not write what we call it. You have to call me and ask me about that. She does look so much like Greg when she does it. Squinty chinese eyes and all! :) And of course my sweet Whit, wearing his new winter Drewbie wear. They were so cute tonight!

New skills around here!

Yes, my friends my children are doing new things everyday! Saturday night we went to Jonathan and Sarah's for dinner and I handed Kennedy an ABC book and said to her, "Here read the ABC book." She then proceeded to sing the ABC's. They are not perfect by any means but she got really close to the real thing. I sat there in amazement because I have never heard her do that before!! It is like when she crawled she waited and waited and then just crawled perfectly across the floor. She hides things from us!! I tried tonight to catch it. My video camera lagged for the beginning and she never made it to z but you get the point I guess! And I had to include little Whit doing his new skill, rolling over! And I would like to apologize for my loud, YAY!! that comes after they both finish. I really am a very loud person!!!

My Kennedy

Oh, my kennedy brings us great joy! She stayed home with Greg today and he got a small dose of how it is to be me. He left right when I got home to run an "errand." I think she wore him out! She is much better today and has been fever free all day! Yay! She has been making us laugh all night long. At one point Greg and I both had tears in our eyes she was making us laugh so hard. It is just so funny the things she says! Here are some examples just for documentation sake!

Whit is playing on the floor and Kennedy lays down next to him. She says to him, "Buddy row, hi buddy row. Buddy row look at me buddy row." Greg has come up with this stupid name and she has picked up on it. It really is funny to hear her say it! She sounds like the most country redneck child that ever existed. Where did we get her from? "Pumpkin! Hiney Pumpkin!" Whit is wearing his pumpkin jammies with a pumpkin on his hiney. She got a kick out of this. I can't remember where the conversation went from there because we were laughing so hard.

This is my favorite. It might be my favorite so far. I was putting her to bed and saying her prayers.
Me: "Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep"
K: "Pray the Lord, Bobby, Pray the Lord" as she pats Bobby on the head. (Bobby is her baby she sleeps with every night)
Me: "Angels watch me through the night and wake me when the sun shines bright"
K: "Sun shines bright, Bobby, sun shines bright"
Me: "AMEN!"

My Kennedy you do break my heart into pieces!

Day 3 of the fever....

Not yellow fever, ha,ha, just the Kennedy fever. She came down with it Friday and this morning she woke up with a fever again. It left for a while and is back again! Poor thing she has felt so bad. I hate when little ones get sick! We did find time to carve a pumpkin yesterday when she was feeling a little better. It is a Greg and Katie combo design. You know you want one right? My sweet Kennedy that is deathly afraid of the chick fila cow was also very scared of our pumpkin. We tired to make it a happy one and she did not like it at all! Oh, well!
Here his K with her Daddy. That is about as close as she would get to the pumpkin. How did I get a child that scared of things? We lite it up last night and took her out to see it in the dark and she really did not want to get near it! We will not be torturing her with Santa this year. I guess Whit will be the only one to sit in Santa's lap! He won't mind this year!
Oh, and the weather here is fabulous! Thank you Liza for sending some our way! We got out the long sleeves and sweatshirts! Aaahhhh I do love fall!

3 Months Old!! WOW!

Whit is now officially 3 months old! I started the tradition of taking a little photo shoot on their month birthdays with Kennedy. It is neat to look back and see how they have grown! I took him out for his photo shoot today and he was so serious about it! I wanted to get some with the pumpkins but it didn't work out quite as planned. Kennedy got very jealous while I was trying to take his pictures so that got cut shorter than I wanted. Anyways, here are some pics from our day. He is getting to be such a big boy!

At 3 months:

* You love to play on the floor. Your favorite toy is your mirror and play gym. You like to lay on your tummy and just look at yourself!

*You can roll over!

*You are perfecting the "social" smile as we have named it. You participate in life around you and really find the joy in it. It melts my heart to have you just look up and me and grin.

* You are a very happy boy! I can't even think of the last time you were really mad!

* You love your sister. I will catch you just watching her and smiling.

*You are getting very good at holding your head up while on your tummy.

*You are working on sleeping through the night. You don't need a feeding much anymore in the night. You just require a transfer of beds (from yours to mine!) about 3:00 every night. I am working on correcting that but it is taking some time! You are very spoiled! (that would be my fault)

*You are still obsessed with your paci. It is a necessity for sleep!

I wish I could put into words how much he has changed our lives. I worried so much that we weren't ready for this and that I couldn't love another one like I did Kennedy. If you are a mother you know how deep the love you have for your child. If you are a mother of two or more you know how much your love can grow. I just stare at him sometimes and wonder what I would have done without him. I cannot imagine our family without him now! He melts my heart a hundred times a day. I love being a mom and God has given me so much in giving my children. I am forever grateful for my little miracles.

I love this little smirk!

And I didn't want to leave out a smile! This smile was for his Daddy!

And not to forget poor Kennedy. She is under the weather today running a fever. I made her a bed on the couch (something my mommy always did for me) and turned on a little cartoons. She was pitiful! Hopefully she will be better tomorrow!
