My Heart

She's my heart this little girl. She chose every inch of this outfit today...down to the sparkly pink shoes. I love everything about her. She was running around the yard with Greg laughing and I couldn't help but think about how much she has grown up!! We have complete grown up conversations about everything under the sun. She doesn't miss a beat, this one. She tells me what she thinks about everything and I love that about her. I think about last year and how small she was when we brought Whit home. I pushed her into that "big" kid role. I have expected things of her that I don't think I would have if we hadn't had another so quickly. She's adjusted and the role of big sis suits her so perfectly. But underneath it all, she is still my precious little girl. The one I held so tightly that December day and thanked God for my first hold-it baby. Look how far we've come. My goodness...God's blessing are truly, truly beyond anything we can ever imagine!!

NO MORE FACEBOOK!!

Ok, so obviously I am not going to quit facebook. BUT...I think we are losing sight of the importance our our good old blogs people. Facebook is the now, not our memories. It is fading. Your status changes and you don't got back and reminisce about past status updates. Years and years from now I hope this becomes a legacy for my kids. I hope that when I am long gone they can still read the words I wrote about them. I honestly hope that these posts get put on a shelf somewhere and read by many people after me. Silly, I know, but it is what I want from this. I want my kids to know I enjoyed every moment of their lives. I want them to know (from me) how much they mean to me. So, I am going to be a better blogger. I will share more videos and pictures. I will share more feelings. This is for you Kennedy and Whit. I love facebook, but I love you more. Now quit looking at other people's pictures and post something on your BLOG!! :)

WALKING!!!

Watching this made me cry. I have had an exhausting day. I am drained in more ways than I can even describe. I walk in Michelle's today defeated. My Whitty Whit walks right up to me and smiles! He has been walking for a month or so but he always crawls when he wants to get somewhere fast. Today was different. He would walk, fall down, and get back up and try again. When we got home he was chasing Kennedy around the house. The day is here...he can now officially walk!!! My precious, precious baby is turning into a toddler. I love these moments. I love to see them accomplish new things. This mommy is tired...very, very tired, but very, very joyful all at the same time. I think that is the true definition of being a mom. Thanks Whit, for making my day better.

What can watching a little Dora do for you?

Teach you Spanish of course!!

Check up!!

Whit had his 12 month check up today. Yes, it is a month late...I know....oh well! Here are his stats.

Weight: 21 lbs 2 ounces
Length: 31 inches

This makes him about the 15th percentile in weight and 75th in height!! Long and skinny! He was given a clean bill of health. I think those of us with healthy babies might take for granted these boring check ups. I for one, did not want to waste my time going. But how wonderful is it that my child is growing, healthy and on schedule?!! I am truly, truly, blessed beyond measure. We weren't going to ever try to get pregnant with Greg on the meds he is on. It was too risky. We did get pregnant on them and I worried about the baby. Look at him now....my precious, precious boy! Thank you God for my healthy babies. May I never take that for granted!

Perfectly Perfect

I am calm most days. The times I hate the most are getting out of the house. I have Whit in my arms screaming, Kennedy running the opposite direction, Riley hiding under the bed. I race to get Kennedy. I drag the dog out from the bed and put her up. I somehow get both kids in the car. I always forget something so I have to go back in...ugghhhh!!! Those are the moments that I think, really this is my life? I need to get out these pictures when I feel like that. Those moments pass. The life I am giving my children will last forever. They have each other forever and that brings such a joy to my heart. I hope some day they see what we gave them. Maybe, just maybe, they will. I took a few pictures after church today and they were being so sweet. I love these children. I love my crazy life. I wouldn't want it any other way. :)

This might be my new favorite one. I can't believe they are big enough to hug each other like this!
He loves her. She is so his whole world. I love it!

Sweet Whit, in his new big boy shoes!!! I know, not everyone on earth appreciates knee socks. I for one, LOVE them!! I will put them on him as long as I can. A bubble and knee socks....precious!

Loving on lil brother....this didn't last long! :)

Brilliant

You would think with a second child, one would not be as amazed at the brilliance of their children. Well, this mommy is still amazed. Whit grabs Greg's keys and crawls to the door and does this.....I still can't believe he is old enough to figure out these things! They know so much more than we think they do. I love this boy!
He grabs the spoon from me and insists on feeding himself! He is loving every minute of this!

The Farm...Round 2

Kennedy's first boy day this year consisted of a green and white polka dotted dress with her initials on in. This time, I talked her into shorts. :) She insisted on a big bow as well! Greg still has a vision of jeans, a t-shirt, and a hat. We'll keep you updated to see if that ever happens. :) She had a fun Saturday morning with her Daddy though. Here are some sweet pics I took before they left. Whit spent the day with Mommy shopping....poor thing!

Putt Putt!

We took the kids for their first round of putt putt on Friday night. It was fun! I think Drew and Whit are going to enjoy it as a future activity. Kennedy, bless her soul, is not as into golf as her daddy hoped. Drew really focused and played his best. Whit spent the time really mad that he was not tall enough for the huge club he was given. He totally got that you hit the ball with a club, which makes Greg really proud. :) Here are some pics of them in action!

The big kids...can you tell Kennedy picked our her own shoes?
Whit...trying his best to keep up with the big kids!
And let's not forget sweet Lorelei...happy as ever!

13 Months!!

A year and a month...wow life is too fast! Whit is changing by the day. The only thing around here that hasn't changed is how much we all love him. This baby gets lots and lots of love. What's Whitty Whit up to these days? Well, let's see...I"ll go with his likes first.

*He loves a ball. It is his favorite thing on earth. Greg thinks he is already showing athletic ability. I hope he is right. Kennedy seems to be a lost cause in that area already.
*He loves his sand and water table. He also loves trucks, cars...anything that goes vroom!!
*His paci. It is his heart. He loves that thing!
*Riley: He calls her RaRa. He will pull and pull on her and she just lets him.
*Outside: I just wish the HOT weather would go away so we could play more!
*Crawling: He is getting much better at walking but when he needs to get somewhere fast, he hits the floor. I will not give him the title of walking until it is his main form of transportation. Keep checking back for that info. He can walk across the room if he wants to. It is the fact that he doesn't do it because it takes too long that is so funny.
*Kennedy: She lights up his world. He kisses her night night every night before bed and it is the sweetest smile when she gives him a kiss. I love their relationship.

He is talking so much. My mom makes fun of his one work barking. Bite! BYE! NO! HI! I can't remember what words I wrote at a year but here are some new ones: night night, Uh uh (uh oh), RaRa (riley)....I am having trouble thinking of ones. I will have to add to this later. :)

His dislikes: There are only a few. He really doesn't like church. He also hates a new situation. He is fine being left if he knows you. Change his routine and you are a goner.

He has a mouth full of teeth! He has 4 on top and 4 on the bottom. He just got 2 molars and is working on the others. Kennedy had 2 teeth at this point. A baby with teeth is strange to me. It is super precious on him though. :)

Greg is quickly realizing he has a son and the possibilities of that. I love how happy it makes him!

We love you Whitty, Whit!

Farewell Franchesca

Well, she's gone. Kennedy cried. I was a little sad. I have silly attachments to cars. Someone told me that it is not the car you miss but the memories you had in it. I drove around waiting on Kennedy in this car. I had that silly car seat all bucked in for a month waiting on her! Greg drove home 20 mph to bring her home from the hospital. He drove home normal speed to bring Whit home. :) Kennedy loves this car. She spots it in a parking lot and yells, "My car!" My family has grown from just the two of us to the four of us while we had this car. It was my first SUV. :) Sweet Franchesca, thank you for the memories. Thank you for the good times. Thank you for holding us all safely when we tore through Bambie. Thank you for getting us places and being a part of our family. May you now enjoy your youth again in the life of a 16 year old. Good luck! We'll miss you. Now on to new things around here.....stay tuned to find out what that is!

Looking up!

He looks up to that big sis of his!

Point for Greg!!!

Greg was right. Yes, I just said that!! Whit has been sick ALL week. That makes for a long week for the grown ups around here. He said the other day, "I wonder if it is roseola." Hmmmm....I thought. If you don't know, roseola is a virus in small children that have high fevers (like Whit's 103) for 3-5 days. Then the fever breaks and a rash appears. His fever broke yesterday around lunch. SuSu stayed home with him today and when he got up from his afternoon nap what appeared? The rash....so my dear Greg, you were right. Maybe you should be a doctor! Good to know that K has already had this so I can breathe a little sigh of relief and hope she doesn't get sick. I hope we didn't infect anyone around here!!

My Sunshine

She'll test you. She'll throw herself to the floor to stand up for what she believes in. She'll yell NO and not care if she gets in trouble when she thinks it is worth it. Then she'll make you laugh. She'll tell you stories. She'll entertain you. She'll make you cry you are so amazed at her. She's my sunshine. She's a bit covered in clouds some days. Some days are pure thunderstorms complete with lightening. Under it all she is just pure sunshine. Thank you God for my Kennedy. I don't think I could live a day without my sunshine. :)

Go AWAY!!!

Not you...ha..ha...the VIRUS needs to evacuate my house pronto! Whit came down with "something" on Sunday. He has run a pretty high fever everyday this week. At times, he has been just pitiful. Then at others he is is crawling (and half walking) around the house laughing. A sick baby is so sad. He has been to the doctor and they said it was a virus. I called today and we decided it was still a virus, maybe the flu. In August? Seriously, we get croup in July and the flu in August? Such is life I guess....hopefully we are in the homestretch. I know poor Whit is ready to feel better. We miss our little boy full of smiles! Although I did get a lot of those today! :) Here are a few pics of one night this week in between fevers. Thank you God for baby motrin. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Where's Kennedy? Who shut this door in my face?
Try to keep a 2 year old and a one year old apart when one is sick. Seriously, that is a task that cannot be done around here!

My sweet boy and those "sick" eyes...poor thing! Go AWAY VIRUS!!

Whit's first steps!!

Finally got some on video!! :) Here he is taking his first steps! I know I am posting a lot on Whit tonight...he is just changing so fast. I want to remember these moments. They fly by too fast!!!

Daddy's Home!

I was attempting to get a video of Whit walking last night and caught this moment. It makes my heart happy. This is all for you Greg. Can you imagine that pure joy? mmmmmm.....sweet, sweet baby!

Talking to Whit

I love this boy. Enjoy a little taste of a conversation with my Whitty Whit. :)

Taking steps!!

This is bitter sweet for me. I have these images of my two children playing in the backyard this fall. They can run and play....mmmm...sounds so nice. Then I have the thought of my BABY not being a baby anymore but a toddler. Most of the time I feel like Whit might be my last baby. (Sorry to my future baby if you come one day.....mommy loves you too. ) So, I think about letting go of babyhood forever which is sad, yet exciting as well. All this to say, Whit is taking lots and lots of steps lately!! I went into K's room tonight with him like this....
Playing...
And he's up....pusing the grocery cart across the room. I take the cart and he walks across the room to get it from me. ACROSS THE ROOM!!!!
My big boy...growing up too fast. I yelled for Greg to get the video camera. Disc full, it says. Seriously? So all I have are these pics and my moment. You are growing up too fast Whit. I am so, so proud of you. Keep stepping...you'll get it!!

I'll keep you updated on the walking status. I give him a month and he'll be running!! :)

My girls

In case you were wondering if Riley is still around, here she is! :) The girls were snuggled up watching Cinderella tonight. I have a soft spot in my heart again for Riley. She loves my children. I should really be nicer to her. If she would stop getting on top of my kitchen table I might stop yelling at her. :)

His FIRST hair cut!!! :)

Bye, bye rat tail! Bye, bye hair in the face!! Whit went in for his very first hair cut yesterday. Mrs. Pat had the honor of giving both my babies their first hair cuts. Or, I guess we should say we are honored...it is not everyone that gives kisses and haircuts. It is very special to have someone that loves your babies be a part of a first for them. So, thanks Mrs. Pat!!! :) Here are a few pics. Whit was not super excited about it at all. I held him the whole time. Scissors and a baby are a dangerous combo. Kennedy was a little older for her first cut...a one year old is hard to hold still!
Are you really ready for a hair cut when you still need a paci? :)
This one is my favorite...bribery with his paci...such a Whit thing!

Not so sure about this...

Precious...doesn't it look precious?!!!

Almost done! We didn't get a final one at the salon. Why is that Greg? Never give a man a camera at important moments!

The finished product!!! Doesn't he look like such a big boy?

And not to forget my little vain princess....she had a little trim as well. She sat still and enjoyed the entire experience. My little high maintenance child.....and she talked about how beautiful she was. Am I creating a monster here? :)

Enjoying every minute!
