13 Months!

I know I say this every month, but I cannot believe my little Kennedy is 13 months old! She is such fun to be around lately. She has always had the greatest disposition. When she was little her cry was even sweet. She enjoys almost every minute of every day. Her little smile is contagious! She is still busy learning new words. She now says book all the time and brings it to you and says book and reaches for you so you can read it to her. She still has not mastered the walking yet. She is down to the one hand hold and is getting good at that. The minute you let go she falls to the ground. She doesn't realize she isn't depending on us that much! In due time, i guess! I am trying to teach her mommy has a baby in her belly. She will grab her belly and laugh. That is as far as we have gotten with that! Keeping with monthly tradition here are her 13 month pictures from today. She enjoyed the photo shoot this time!

A little daddy love

When you have a baby you love and kiss them all you can. I think you are lost in the excitement of this little new life you created. Then they smile at you for the first time and you melt. Then out of this tiny baby comes the sweetest sound you will ever hear, a little laugh. Every little step they take you are amazed! I think for Greg, it has been waiting for her to say DaDa and then now she loves to give kisses. You love them so much and then one day they wake up and let you know they love you so much too! I caught Kennedy giving her Daddy a little kiss today. Melts his heart, I promise! She LOVES her daddy! :)
A little baseball lesson? She couldn't hold the ball with one hand! Too big! She did throw it once. :)

A nice weekend...

We had a nice weekend at the Olliff household. Greg got home Saturday after a LONG trip away. 3 whole days! I know, I know, it was not that long. I just don't like being at home at night alone. I start hearing things....

Kennedy had her 1 year pictures on Saturday. I planned them at the perfect time of day, when she would be nice and rested. She of course heard me say she was having the pictures and planned on a nap boycott before the pictures. She finally fell asleep 2o minutes or so before we had to leave. I snatched her out of bed at the last minute and took her in her jammies. She was actually in a great mood for the pictures. Her favorite thing to do is push the walkers she got for her birthday and everything we tried to get her to hold on to she would push across the studio. Needless to say, we did not get many of her standing. She was on the go!

Drew has been quarantined all weekend sick with an ear infection. Fever was finally gone for 24 hours and we could visit again! Kennedy was so excited to see Dew! She actually ignored him completly when he first got here. I was excited to see Jen again at least!

I am not posting my pictures in the right order tonight. Oh, well! We took them outside for a little swingset time today. They played in the playhouse and had a great time! I am really enjoying the stage she is in right now. She is talking and learning so much each day! Her new favorite thing is to hold her hands up from across the room, look at me with puppy dog eyes, and say MaMa, MaMa.. in the sweetest voice. Makes you get up and go get her. She knows way too much already! She has me wrapped!

Although Drew can now lap Kennedy walking, he still comes down to her level every once in a while. :)

I like this one. I love the look on her face. Imagine what they are thinking!

And not to be left out.... Riley was our first baby, and has been left out a lot. She is now getting in trouble for jumping on tables. And not just Kennedy's little table, this is her in her timeout spot for getting on the kitchen table! Maybe I should give her more attention. Look at those sad eyes!

That's all! I hope this will be enough to keep you through the week. I have not been a good during the week blogger. Oh, new baby update..14 weeks yesterday and we go on Feb 6 to find out what we are having. That is in a week and a half!! I will start posting some bellly pics after that. I have found myself in some maternity pants already! Aahhh the life with no zippers. It is so good for a while.... I know to enjoy it!

Happy Birthday Greg!!!

Today is Greg's 29th birthday! :) Last year we celebrated long distance while he was in Dallas and Kennedy was just 3 weeks old. This year he was off to Jekyll Island for a conference. I am much more able to keep Kennedy by myself! It is a little less scary. That is until I heard about a burglar that apparently recently broke into someone's house near here. I was then scared to come home after Jen and I took a walk. I made Chad come over with his baseball bat and all and search my house, even the closet inside the closet, and make sure we were all clear. All clear! :) I had all intentions of taking Kennedy's picture with Greg today but we were so rushed this morning getting out the door. So, my dear sweet Gregory, here's to you on your 29th birthday! We'll have to love you from far away again this year! Maybe next year we should spend the day together. It will be the 4 of us then! :) I LOVE YOU!

She's Electric!

This made laugh so hard today I had tears in my eyes! Kennedy LOVES laundrey and I put her in the basket today with all the towels. I folded them while she continued to sit in the basket. She finally knocked it over but kept playing in it. That is when she became electric! We joke about her crazy hair anyways, but this one took the cake. Enjoy my electric baby! :)

Play Date!

Kennedy and Aiden had a playdate today. It started off like this. Aiden comes in nice and scared, Kennedy ignores him and finishes her lunch. Aiden then eats his lunch while Kennedy plays with her toys and continues to ignore him. Drew comes over and joins the fun. The three babies continue to ignore each other completely and play in their own little worlds. They did finally start fighting over the same toys. What if our lives were like that? The boys can run circles around my poor crawling baby. Sitting duck! In all seriousness, we had fun. It was good to see Sandra and Aiden. I don't see them as much as I would like. Life keeps us too busy! We had fun!

Banks is here!

Banks was born today at 3:17 PM. He was a big baby weighing in at 8 lbs 2 ounces! He is beautiful! Much bigger than I ever expected. Bonus point for little Sarah birthing that baby! Here's to you! Check out Sarah's blog for more pictures. I put this one of Kennedy just to prove she waited patiently at the hospital awaiting Banks's arrival. We actually got there after he was born, but she did entertain herself with crayons. She has never played with them before!

Rain, Rain Go away....

Isn't my little family Cute?!! They look like twins! So the weather here is awful! I wish we at least got snow! Today was Poppa Bear's (Brucie's) birthday. We went out to eat to celebrate tonight! Kennedy and her daddy wore their new rain coats, courtesy of Liza and MeMe and Pops.

Today also began my hormonal surges. Jen already poked fun at me on her blog and I will say it is the truth. I cried all the way to work, at Michelle's, when I got to work, and finally gathered myself together. I was then in a crappy mood all day until I got home. I really don't think pregnancy hormones mix with someone who is already crazy themselves. I have enough natural crazy! Hopefully, this was a fluke, and Chad and Jen don't have to move! :)

In other news, Fun Sarah is at the hospital tonight beginning her inducement! I hate to be far away from the action. Not that I belong in the delivery room or anything, I just like to know what is going on at every minute! Banks should make an arrival some time tomorrow! I can't wait to hold him! :)

That is all for the news of today. Gotta go charge my camera battery... I am in charge of posting pics of Banks tomorrow! Check back to see!

Uh Oh!

Kennedy and I spent a sick day together yesterday. She is still feeling a little under the weather. She has this horrible cough that I really want to go away. A sick baby is so sad! You want to immediatly fix it and you can't. They don't give babies ANY medicine it seems like and all we do is pop meds when we don't feel good. Being pregnant or nursing for the past 21 months has made me realize we do take a lot of medicine. I haven't taken cold medicine since I got pregnant with Kennedy and my colds have come and gone. Maybe the doctors are on to something...maybe.....

All this to say, I had a little time on my hands. I keep trying to catch her on video talking and she is camera shy, but yesterday she was really in to the uh, oh when she threw her toys from the chair. She is starting to get really good at the talking thing! She informs me of things and what they are all day. She probally says dog 100 times a day. I was amazed when she looked at the toilet paper wraper that has a dog on it and pointed to that and said dog. Smart baby!We are working on walking. She took a few steps from me to the ottoman tonight and then a few and when I say few, I mean 1, 2, and that is all to Greg. She is starting to get more comfortable with it. Still drunk walking as we call it. Wobbly legs! :)

The week of Baby Banks...

I would like to offically name this week, the week of Baby Banks. I know that he came come any day now, but I really would prefer a weekend so I can be the friend that gets to wait anxiously in the hospital waiting room. Sarah is planning on an induction Friday, if all goes as planned unless he comes earlier. You would think I am having a baby this week, I am getting so excited! So, here's to you baby Banks! We will anxiously await your arrival! Happy Baby Banks week to you! I am sure you will have your birthday week as an entire celebration as you grow up, so I will just start off the tradition for you! If your parents are ever not fun, just come to me, Fun Katie. I am the one that gave your mom that name you know! :)

Aunt Liza visits!

We had a nice weekend with Liza. Kennedy started it off with a bang...102 fever and a quick visit to the doctor to find out we had croup again. She was a champ as usual and still played and enjoyed her time with Liza. We went to see the Bucket List and I will say that I cried the ugly cry. Why do movies have to do that? Kennedy is still a bit under the weather so we are staying home are resting tomorrow. Hopefully that will be what she needs to get better! I hate when a baby gets sick!

Introducing......

The time has come to introduce to you the newest member of the Olliff family. You guessed it, we are having a baby! It came as a complete suprise blessing and we are so excited! For those of you who are not as familiar with our story or forgot, we went through a LOT to get Kennedy here. We had tons of fertility tests and treatments and finally got pregnant with her. We were told we would never be able to get pregnant on our own. Our God is one that can make miracles and look what He did for us! We went yesterday for my 11 1/2 week appointment and to our amazement the baby was still there, growing and getting stronger everyday. It is starting to get real!! We might be crazy, but I firmly believe we can handle anything God places in our way. I smile now thinking about my journey to motherhood. I will forever say that I am thankful for the path that I was chosen to take. It was harder than some, but I have a true appreciation for my little miracles. 3 years ago I wondered if I would ever get to be a mother and hold my baby. And now, I can snuggle my precious Kennedy and wait and grow our newest miracle! That is a true testament of the power of prayer! Life might be crazy with little feet all over my little house, but what joy that will bring! So, enjoy my tiny picture, I couldn't cut the extra part out, lack of skills I guess....Just a glimpse at one of the many miracles in my life! May you all find the miracles, big and small, in your life! With God anything is possible!

A few more words...

I have been pressured to include a few more words. One I just forgot.

21. Night Night... very cute

22. And the infamous two word phrase that those who were at her birthday swear she said. I have the video, but I might loose it on accident.... Oh S***, which I personally think it was oh see! I opened a puzzle and she yells it! We'll think on the positive side and say oh see! :)

I'm not a bad mother am I? :)

Her words at 1 year

I thought I needed to make a list of Kennedy's words at a year. I need to document it and my plan is to print the blog of her first year and add it to the baby book. So, here is a little dip into my Kennedy's world. At least what she is telling us anyways...

These are in no specific order.

1. Hi: This is her favorite. A wave comes with it most of the time
2. Bye
3. MaMa; this sometimes in the form of my mama, or at least sounds like it. Warms my heart!
4. DaDa: This one is said so sweet...she yells mama
5. Pop Pop, this is my dad, officially known as Pops, but K calls him Pop Pop
6. Poppa: She mouths it at first, but you can hear her say it!
7. Dawg.....at everything
8. Drew: lots of people are Drew, but Drew is also Drew
9. Ally: this is Miss Michelle's daughter, she says this one so sweet too! She loves Ally!
10. Uh oh, she likes to throw things down and then say uh oh!
11. Cow says....she says..MOO
12. Dog says.....she says...woof
13. Duck says...she says...qua
14. Horse says....she says...neigh
15. the all important NO NO! This is often accompanied by a hitting of some sort, mostly directed at Riley or a turning on the head with food she doesn't like
16. Iley: Riley... I think she said it tonight. We need to work on this one
17. Baby.. she loves her babies
18. Love...this sounds like oooooovvee but it means love
19. Shhheeeww: this is the sign that something stinks. We say it during diaper changes and she shake her head.
20. Duck

That is all I can come up with at the moment. I will add more if they come to me. Have a great rest of the week!

Walking....like an old man.... :)

I thought I would update the out of towners on her walking progress. We are still not walking yet, but she has mastered the walkers she got for her birthday. She can get around pretty fast! We joke and say she looks like an old man with a walker. She does stand for a while by herself, but when she realizes it she falls down. She'll get it! I think she is beginning to like the idea of walking. Maybe it will be like her crawling. She waited until it was perfected for us to see it and then crawled everywhere! If you listen closely you can hear her say Hi to Riley. It is her favorite word. :)

Bathtime

This will be the last post of the day. I took some bathtime pictures the other night and they turned out so cute! I am probally violating her by posting these but she will forgive me! Have a good week! I go back tomorrow to a room full of chidren to teach! AAhhhhhh! :)

The Jeans...

Aunt Courtney got Kennedy new jeans for Christmas. I love the look from behind! She is also growing what we affectionatly call the Kennedy Mullet, all business in the front and a party in the back. It keeps growing in the back, but not in the front! Whatever will we do! She was again playing at her new table. I have a lot of pictures to catch you up on!

Her new table!

Here's to being BEST friends!

We got Kennedy a little pottery barn table for her birthday. It just came in and she loves it! I thought it would be something she would have to grow into, but she is sitting pretty in it already. Drew came over for breakfast yesterday and they had their pancakes at the table. So cute!

Happy New Year!

We have had a nice relaxing day. Kennedy and I did not leave the house once. It was nice! We played and played. I took this picture when she woke up from her nap. It amazes me how children can wake up so happy! She popped up and started playing peek-a-boo in her crib when I walked in. Moments like that I want to last forever. I hope your New Year started off as good as ours. I have a feeling it is going to be a good year!! :)
