Bring on SUMMER!!!

Wow...I am behind on the picture taking! I've been meaning to post some of Kennedy in her oh so wonderful arm brace. She is doing so well with it. Although, I am not happy with the dirtiness of it. Yuck! These are not my best photographic(is that a word?) skills but they will have to do. We had a crazy weekend, but it was a good one. A few things I would change, but you can't have everyday be perfect, right? These are all in backwards order, but they will just have to do. We played outside today after naps in our very tiny kiddie pool. The kids had so much fun. Kennedy even was a champ about the trash bag on her arm! Ha! I am SO ready for summer. This 90 degree weather will do that to you I guess....I just long for days where there is no schedule except ones that involve the pool, lunch, nap....i can handle that kind of schedule!

Whit enjoyed his first time in the baby pool. He is going to LOVE the big pool. He needs to get a little fat on those bones or he is going to freeze in the big pool!
Kennedy and her trash bag..nothing will stop this girl from having fun!

My kiddos after church today. Church is a whole different story...much drama...I won't go there. They did look cute though!

Smocked dress+ nasty ace bandage=great outfit!!

Playing hard...no matter what!!

My love...

And Banks!!! He came over last night and they played so well together! I love that they are becoming friends!!
And guess who tee teed in the potty not once but twice today? Well, yes me, but so did Kennedy!!! YAY!! Is this a step? Keeping my fingers crossed about that one.
Have a great week!!! 25 more days until summer for me!!! WOO HOO!!!

Here's to my kids!!! :)

Let me update you on poor Kennedy. She did actually fracture her arm on Sunday. We found out yesterday. We started thinking something wasn't right when I would touch her arm or pull her out of the car seat. So we took her just in case and I am now glad we did. We went to the orthopedist today and he said her break looks good. A good break?!! Well at least it is a good break! She does NOT have to wear a cast...woo hooo!! She is to wear a brace for 10 days and we go back for a recheck. I would like to give my daughter some big props for how she has handled this. She cried on the way out of the pediatrician's office when we first had to brace it. She took it off I think 2 times after that and since then she has just adjusted. Not to mention she went 2 days with a broken arm and you never would have known it! My child is pretty darn tough if you ask me. She will now tell you that the Dr. told her to wear it. I wonder if "the doctor told you to use the potty" will work. Hmmmm....:)

And Whitty Whit has made a huge accomplishment today as well. He has been fussy the past day or so. I think he is teething. We came home tonight while Greg and K went to Chad's soccer game. I love getting a little time with him. He was cracking me up. He was in the best mood! I wonder if he just needed some mommy time. He crawled up to me tonight and pulled up on my leg and sat on his knees. First of all he never does that. He was in that position and just looked at me like he was so proud. Then he stood up on his legs!!! WHAT?!!! So Whit has officially pulled up for the first time. He quickly fell over because he was in a ridiculous position and could not figure out how to stand. Sweet baby.... I was walking at 9 months! I am very glad that isn't happening around here. I have a feeling he is rapidly learning new skills though. Last night I asked where he was and Greg says, "on the other side of the couch." I go looking and can't find him. Not in the living room, not in the hall, not in my room.....panic...found him in Kennedy's room! My house is so not very big but I was scared for a minute. Hold on little boy...quit growing up SO fast! I held my baby like a baby for a long time tonight in his towel after his bath. He just looked at me and cackled....he is still my baby, right?

Mmmm...The Chairs...

Liza and I have an unusual relationship with our chairs on the island. They took those chairs and it still makes me mad. They replaced them with benches and that is just unacceptable!! I got some Adirondack chairs for my backyard and was super excited about them. We have spent so many hours just talking in those chairs. Then they were taken back by their rightful owner and I am again mad. Why are chairs always being taken from me? And special chairs at that!! Kennedy and I go out and rock on the front porch at night before bed. Whit goes to bed around 7ish so it is just our time. We were rocking tonight and it made me happy. She was going on and on about how only girls paint their toes, not boys! She told me drew doesn't paint his toes because he is a boy. And cows don't paint their toes either. She's crazy! I've rocked in these chairs through a lot. Sarah and I rocked almost every friday night and had "rockin beers" together before we had kids. Then we we went through everything to get pregnant we would just rock and talk. Then it turned to "rockin juice" because we were all pregnant around here. Praise the Lord!! And now tonight I sit and rock with my little girl. How wonderful is the circle of life? The company is different (although I still enjoy the old company...we need to do that soon!) but it makes me happy to have some new chairs. These are chairs I rocked in the day before I had both my babies. And now my baby is old enough to join me rocking, "by myself" in her words. He're to my chairs....it might sound silly but my "chair club" understands!!!

And BANG....

That is the sound of my precious K falling from the ladder while climbing up the swing set. I seriously had my heart stop for a moment. We were on the porch and all I see is my daughter lying on the ground. And did I mention she was not moving? Not moving at all. I run, with a baby in my arms, to her as fast as i can. Greg is also in the race. I think he gets there first. She cried for a good hour, on and off. We inspected her thoroughly and didn't find anything too bad. She was just scared to death. It was her first serious accident. Bless her heart. I am sure that we have many more moments like this to come but I hope not. The part of being a parent that makes your heart stop and your life and your child's life flash before your eyes..not so fun!

9 months and perfect...:)

Wow!! My Whitty Whit is now officially nine months old! I, for once, did not take him out for his nine month photo shoot on the 17th of the month. Note to Greg here...your son was born on the 17th. He tends to forget the day. :) We did get some professional pictures taken today and I was really happy with the photo shoot. Both kids were perfect angels. Seriously...they both did great! And Erin, our photographer, was so great with them. She just ran around with Kennedy and captured her in her element which was exactly what I wanted! Here is a link to the sneak peek she put on her blog tonight. They turned out so good!

http://erinrenephotography.blogspot.com/

And my Whit...9 months...where has the time gone? You are such a joy. And I don't say that lightly. Two people today said, "Is he always this happy?" Yes, is always my reply. Yes, you are. Bless your heart, you live in a crazy house with crazy people and you spend your time smiling. I wish I could capture these days recently and keep them forever because you are just being so darn sweet. Your daddy is finding that you are getting more interested in him and sports lately. He took you to a baseball game today and you had so much fun! They say a little boy loves him mommy, and it is so true. Your smile will melt my heart and that little laugh is contagious. I love you more than words can ever do justice.

At 9 months
*You can crawl (still the drag crawl) You get up on all fours and rock back and forth then resort to your original crawl. Sometimes you don't even use your left leg. Really, son, it would be much easier if you did!
* You love a bath. I think this is your new favorite time of the day. You are going to love the pool this summer!
*You love all food. I started making your baby food and you love it! :)
*The paci is a necessity. We could not make it through a day without it. Seriously...I don't think I would make it!
* You LOVE your big sister. You chase her around the house. I caught her the other day slamming a door in your face. Not to worry, Whit, I got there before the door shut on you!
*You can say MaMa, DaDa, and BaBa. Now, I think you know who I am and you have very clearly said it to me when I walked in a room and you reached for me, but I will not yet say you have said your first word. We'll just pretend you knew it was me. You totally knew it was me. Nobody believes me though. :)
*I would describe you as this...you are always looking for the next best thing. You are passed from person to person because you reach and reach to get around the room. You are a very smart baby!
*You are starting to pull up on short things. You haven't quite figured out how to reach the coffee table yet. Take your time on that one please.

I love you , love you, love you, my sweet baby.....and I always will.

A little Daddy time

I have been taking Kennedy out on the front porch to rock right before bed since it got warmer. This week she has started going back out with Greg and playing a little golf in her jammies. I remember how fun it was to get to go back out when you were all clean in your jammies after bath. Spring and Summer nights are just more fun. Tonight we were rocking and she was begging to go out with Greg. I laughed so hard at the comments she was making. He was trying so hard to make her interested in golf. I look over and she is working really hard at unzipping her jacket. She then says, "Daddy, see my jacket? It has hearts on it! Can you help me zip it? No! I can do it myself!" Then he tells her to go collect all the golf balls with him and I hear, "Oh what a beautiful night!" Sweet moments with my precious K....

Happy Easter!

It has been a wonderful Easter day! It all started with a visit from the Easter bunny and Kennedy was so excited! She ran around the house collecting eggs. Later, she told me, "Mommy, I need to tell the Easter bunny thank you!" So sweet! We were then off to church and then off to lunch at SuSu's. Kennedy is currently fast asleep I am sure dreaming of jelly beans and M &M's!

My babies....mmmmm...so precious!

Sweet Kennedy

He loved the eggs! And look closely at his KNEE socks!! LOVE THEM!!! These are his first pair and I really, really, love them! Who says boy clothes aren't fun? I think they are fun...knee socks are super fun for me! :)

Not so interested in taking pictures at first!

Our family

Kennedy and Dr. Daddy...he looks like a professor in that bow tie! :)

Easter Weekend

Spring Break has been anything but restful around here. I don't really know what I have accomplished but it is definitely not rest. That goes with the theme of my life and my two small children I guess! Some day again I will have moments where I can just sit and rest, right? Maybe read a book? Oh well, I will enjoy my crazy life! At least I got some quality time with my kids...that is the important thing! MeMe came up for a quick visit. The kids enjoyed having her here!

It was a beautiful day and K wanted to go outside. I turned around and found her like this! :)
My babies...love them!

We dyed eggs for the first time this year. They did a pretty good job! Drew didn't get the idea of an egg not being able to be thrown. You turn around and he throws it in the cup! I think they had fun!

Lorelei was not being tortured here I promise! I just think this picture is funny. Kennedy has no clue what to do and poor, poor, Lorelei!

The four cutest babies ever!!! :) Turn around Whit!!!

MeMe and Whitty Whit...so sweet!

And Riley...she still exists and is quite photogenic if you ask me! I thought Greg ran over her today and freaked out. It means I still love her, right?

Giving up His son

I am in a thankful mood today. This week has been a whirlwind to say the least. We went to a memorial for our friend's baby yesterday. It was my second time to watch a parent bury their child and I hope and pray it is my last. The service was beautiful. You could feel the presence of God in that place. As they drove away to the graveside everyone in the church just stood in silence. That meant something huge to me. She was so little, so tiny and her life was so short but as I looked around I saw her impact. She touched more lives than her parents will ever know. She was a gift to us as she was to them. Easter is always filled with so many activities when you have kids. You go to the egg hunts, shop for their baskets and buy the perfect new outfits. (nice matching ones in my case) But do we really truly reflect on what Easter is? Having children makes me realize even more what God did for us. He gave His son for me. Would I give up Whit? Or Kennedy? I cannot even imagine. My children are my heart and soul and I could not imagine life without them. Watching our friends grieve the loss of their child makes me see even more meaning this Easter. Christ died for us. God gave His son for us. It's our job to make the most of this life. We are to take what He has given us and make a difference. So this Easter I have a new outlook on things. I will mourn the death of Christ this Good Friday. And I will celebrate with even more joy His resurrection. Because of that we have eternal life. Because of that little Ella Faith is safe in the arms of our Lord. Because of that we have hope and faith. That is the greatest gift of all.

Thankful

I don't know why things happen and its not my job to figure that out. I do know how thankful I am for the things I have been given. I have two beautiful healthy children that have been entrusted to me. Take the time to appreciate what you have been given. We can only live in these wonderful moments. They will never come again.......This is one of my favorite moments today. We just got back from a visit with Aunt Courtney and we were all worn out. I put the kids in K's room to unpack all of their things and I walk away and hear laughter. Not just Kennedy laughter but baby laughter as well...I go running back in to see Whit pulling up on his sister as she dies laughing. He then laughs hysterically at the fact she is laughing. I of course ran to get the camera and this is what i got. I wish, wish, wish you could hear the cackles that came with this. You'll just have to imagine it I guess. It's these moments that make life so precious....

Prayerful

I am in a prayerful mood tonight. I am also in a questioning mood wondering why things happen the way they do. I won't go into a long explanation but i will ask you to pray for our friends. They lost their baby today at 22 weeks of their pregnancy. I am without the right words, and feel as though I wish I could do so much but all I can do is pray. So pray I will until I can't anymore and maybe just maybe they will recieve some sort of comfort and peace. I hope they know how our hearts are breaking with them. I cannot imagine the pain they are going through. So if you read this please pray for Sommer, Joseph and the soon to be born Ella Faith. May God's will be seen and done through all they are going through.

I'm the best! :)

This afternoon Kennedy runs up to me, puts her arms around me and hugs me and says, "You're the best, Mommy!"

Love her, love her, love her!

Bunnies!!

First, I would like to state I am worn out!! :) Every year our church has pictures with bunnies and I love it! It is hard to get a good picture of two kids when there is also a line of children behind you so here is what I got tonight! Kennedy liked them much better this year. Whit..well he was not so concerned with the bunnies. There was also an Easter Egg hunt after this but Whit and I missed out on that...he couldn't hang and neither could I really. She had fun though!

Kennedy and her Mathis...she loves him!
Kennedy and Peyt (as she refers to her) I love how sweet they are being. Such girly girls!

And one of SuSu and Whit! :)
