Bunnies!!
First, I would like to state I am worn out!! :) Every year our church has pictures with bunnies and I love it! It is hard to get a good picture of two kids when there is also a line of children behind you so here is what I got tonight! Kennedy liked them much better this year. Whit..well he was not so concerned with the bunnies. There was also an Easter Egg hunt after this but Whit and I missed out on that...he couldn't hang and neither could I really. She had fun though!

A Kennedy Conversation
My mom bought Kennedy some flash cards and she brought them to us tonight to play with. Here is how the conversation went. Kennedy is on a color boycott...she is so not interested in colors at all! You need to know that before you hear the story.
Me: What is this?
K: That is a bear!
Me: Yes, and what color is it?
K: GREEN! (it is so brown)
Me: What is this?
K: It's a white bug! (black)
Me: What is this?
K: It's a banana!
Me: What color is it?
K: GREEN!
Me: No, kennedy it is yellow.
K: No, Mommy, it's GREEN!
I am beginning to give up yet again because she will argue you to death about a color.
Me: What is this? (it is a picture of a clown)
K: That's a scary ghost Mommy!
Where did I find this child of mine? Arguing about colors and knowing a scary ghost? What in the world? She keeps us laughing that is for sure.
And just to document because I am bad about writing in the baby book, Whit went to the dr. yesterday and weighed in at 17 lbs 3 ounces with his clothes on! At least he was 17 lbs my little skin and bones baby. :)
I love, love, love the stages my kids are in right now. All is right with the world. :) I probally will regret saying that tomorrow! :)

Too close?
Are we too close to our friends when Kennedy sees a 3 child family in her book and points to everyone saying, "That is Kennedy (about the litle girl), that is Whit( baby), that is Mommy and Daddy." I then ask her who the little boy is in the picture and she replies, "That's Drew Mommy!" Too close? I don't think so!!
Spring!!
I love spring for so many reasons. I love warm weather. I love the fact that it is almost summer! I love sweet baby toes with no shoes on. I love spring!! One more week until that much awaited for SPRING BREAK!!! YAY!!
Life around here is anything but dull lately. Kennedy is busy growing up way too fast! She loves to sing and sings and sings all day long. She is also finding lots of ways to steal our hearts and keep herself out of trouble. Last night I overheard her just going up to Greg and saying, "I love you Daddy!" You know he melted at that. Every morning I wake up to the sound of Kennedy walking into our room. I throw her up on the bed between us and always tell her it is still night time. We get a few more minutes of sleep that way. This morning she came in and we are laying there and she says, "I love you guys!" and patted both of us. I do so love this little girl.
Whit has discovered his sister is fun. She runs around the couch and jumps out at him as he chases her. He then yells with delight that she is there again and they repeat the cycle. It is the sweetest thing I have ever seen. I said to Greg this morning, "And I thought I was ruining her life!" as they played together so happily. It warms my heart to see them together. She talks and talks to him in the car and he will coo and talk back to her. He hates his bucket seat..he can't see her as well. The new car seat is on the way! :) I can see their relationship forming and it is so sweet!
We have a busy week on the countdown to spring break! Kindermusik, pictures with the bunnies at church, and an Easter Egg hunt! Then we are off to Charleston to visit Aunt Courtney! Yay for Spring!

WOO HOO!!!
We had a nice weekend with MeMe and Pops. I went to Bailey Boys and got the kids some cute spring clothes. Again, WOO HOO on that one! :) I feel I need to calm down my woo hooness....I will stop saying it now. :)
It was such a nice day out today so I got the camera out as the kids played. Greg is sick (running a fever and feeling yucky...not a woo hoo for me) so we stayed clear of him tonight. Here a a few pics from the day. I LOVED Whit's outfit....such a little baby boy outfit. So sweet!
And Kennedy refused to smile for me...I have to capture that when she isn't looking. I love this one though...It is a look I see quite often!
And if you check Jen's blog, sorry for the repeat but this also makes my heart happy. I love the relationship Drew and Kennedy have. They don't know life without the other one and now Whit and Lorelei are starting to discover each other. Our kids will always have two other people that are just as close as family they can count on and that is something not everyone has! I love it!

Has it been 8 MONTHS?
Here's what my Whit is up to lately...
*You can crawl like crazy! You no longer confine yourself to the rug in the living room. You have discovered you can make it around the couch and follow that crazy sister of yours. This makes you happy and your sister mad. I think it is quite funny!
* YOU CAN SIT UP!!! YAY!!! It only took 8 months...don't worry about that Whit...it was a hard skill for you my dear. :) You still fall occasionally but I am much more confident plopping you down now. You like it as well. It is more fun to play with toys this way.
* You love baby food. Lots of veggies for this boy! You can also hold a bottle now. You love food you can pick up and eat. You are so independent which I guess is good, but I still want you to want me. I have to pin you down to eat at night..you would rather do that yourself I guess!
*You are always looking for what is next. When you are being held you are busy scanning your surroundings to see what you can grab. We have to watch you!
*You reach for ME!! And others of course, but I do love those little arms reaching for mommy...melts my heart.
*I genuinely think your mommy, daddy and sister are your favorite people on earth. When you hear one of our voices your eyes light up! And Riley...you really love Riley. When you hear the pitter patter of her feet you are looking around to find her.
*When you are good you are very, very good, and when you are mad, you are very, very mad! Where did you get that I wonder?
I love this one. I really wonder what he is thinking!
Mommy and Whit and our crazy hair! :)

My BABY!

Kennedy says to Whit, "Look at Mommy Whit, smile for Mommy!"
What? Are you done?
I know I say this every month but I will say it again just because I want to. I cannot imagine life without Whit in it. Everyday I look into those brown eyes and thank God for bringing him into our lives. It is amazing how much you are given when you least expect it. It is almost better than getting what you asked for! I love you Whit!

BEAUTIFUL
That's all I could think when I took these pictures. Kennedy and Greg are off dancing the night away at the Father/Daughter Dance. It is a fundraiser for Bethany's Place, a foundation set up by our friends in honor of their daughter, Bethany. I got a little sentimental (surprise!) after they left thinking about it. Bethany passed away when she was ten days old. (I might be wrong on the exact day) Her parents knew she would not live and didn't even know if they would ever get to hold her. They knew that before she was born. I think about how I felt losing my first baby. Then I think about how much I appreciated the gift of being able to hold my precious Kennedy in my arms. She was so tiny, yet so strong and healthy. God had truly blessed us. How fitting is it to honor that sweet Bethany with something like this. Each dad can take their precious gift, their sweet daughter, and dance the night away. They can celebrate their girls and the miracles that they are. I was honored with the chance to meet Miss Bethany Green while she was here on earth. And I remember looking into that child's eyes and seeing a strength and purpose. Long after she has joined our Lord, her message still lives on. God's miracles are great and we should be thankful for all we are given. He trusted me to be Kennedy and Whit's mom. He chose me. And now, my life has a greater purpose. A little baby's eyes and her parents strength will always go with me. I'll never forget that. These days, this life, it is one word...BEAUTIFUL.
