Whit's getting good at this talking thing. We came home today and had a little time to ourselves. Greg had Kennedy at the soccer game. He played and played outside by himself. He was super excited to have every toy to himself! It was quite funny to watch. He would run from toy to toy and act so proud that he didn't have to share. Poor baby! I told him dinner was ready and his reply, "NO! Stay side!" (with a very serious look on his face.)
Precious. I love this baby. :)

3 :)
At 3 years old I am amazed at her language development. She says words like actually, probably, delicious and on and on. She catches onto things that I don't even know she is listening to. She's been running her mouth since she first uttered a word at 9 months. It is quite comical to listen to her make believe stories. Some might call them lies, but around here we call them stories. :)
This one is actually true. :)
K: Mommy, oh no, something TERRIBLE has happened.
ME: What, Kennedy?
K: My cat, someone must have stepped on him. (she got the tiny, very cheap, cat from an egg hunt at church) She is pretty upset at the point.
K: Do you think Daddy can fix him?
I tell her to go ask him. She runs in there and explains the terrible thing that happened.
Me: Gosh, Daddy, maybe it broke when I might have stepped on it today.
K: She whips that head around and says, "YOU stepped on him! OH NO!!!" (I can't get anything past her.)
Me: I might have stepped on him today.
K: It's ok. Did you step on him with big shoes? Maybe it was in my floor and you stepped on him with really big shoes. It's ok mommy. :)
By this point I am laughing hysterically and so is she. I love these moments. Maybe, just maybe, I'll remember them when she is slamming doors in my face when she is 13. Maybe time will stand still until then. :)
I love you Kennedy Susan.....with every ounce of my soul. That is a true story. :)

WHIT....catch him if you can!
One time I heard someone say that boys are easier to raise then girls. I don't think they were talking about toddler boys. Maybe they were referring to the teenage years. This son of mine is a bit of a handful lately. If you turn your back for even a second he is going to be doing something he shouldn't. He drank air freshener the other day. The next morning he was playing with a ball in the toilet then bouncing on the couch with one of my coke cans. I am running every second of my life!! Kennedy is my calm child. She likes to do things I like. We can play tea party, sit down and just talk....mmmmm....then there's Whit. He screams MOMMY...then runs from me laughing. I thought I would walk you through two days of Whit's life.
I did laundry. I attempted to fold laundry. This is what happened. I would fold one and he would run through the house with it saying, "Help!" Yes, Whit, that is helping I guess.

He gets in trouble for jumping on the Ottoman. This is the face I get. "What did I do wrong, Mommy?" Wink, wink.

2 seconds later.....jumping in the chair. I ask him to sit down in his chair....

He flies into the air and then does this. Smarty pants.

He loves his Daddy. :)

And anything that he thinks is dangerous....this makes me nervous because he is so unpredictable. There were no major tragedies though. :)

Then he is thrown onto the couch. He thinks that is funny as well.

He is super smart.

And finally....bed.....Greg took this one with the lights off and ready for bed. He insisted on wearing them to bed tonight.

Before I begin, I have to describe this picture. I looked over in my own yard and thought, "What is Drew doing over here when Jen is at her house?" Then I realized it was my own child. So here is mini-Drew. He is super cute in his shorts and big boy shoes. :)

In between all of these pics he had some bad moments. Kennedy lost about 100 strands of hair, dinner was tossed on the floor.......I am feeling a little out of control here.
Dear Whit,
Mommy is old. She might not have the energy to chase you like you are requiring of her. It would be nice if you would just calm down a small bit and start being nice to your sister. Although the things you do bring great laughter to our home. You better be glad you are so stinking cute and sweet. It is your lifesaver my dear. I hope that we can keep you safe so you survive your toddlerhood. : )

Can you spell Kennedy?
K: "K-E-N-Y-D-D, that's how you spell Kennedy!"
Me: "Well it is actually K-E-N-N-E-D-Y!"
K: No, mommy, it's not. :) (ok, ok, I'll let this go for now.)
Gosh, I love her. Crazy girl!

Blessed :)
Gosh, life just flies. I cannot believe that it is almost Spring! These children of mine have kept me VERY busy. I have been such a bad blogger lately. You know that is not like me at all!!I got to go to a baby shower tonight for a sweet baby we have prayed for to get here for a long time. I love meeting these babies. The walk some of us have taken to become mothers have not been easy ones, but the outcome is such a wonderful sweet moment. I'll never look at these hold it babies and not forget all those moments I prayed for them before they ever existed. I am thankful for modern medicine. It is how we got our Kennedy here. I am also thankful for our God, who is so much more powerful than anything we have here on Earth. That's how these babies get here. It's through His power. I have been blessed. I find it quite humorous when I am asked if we are having more children. I couldn't ever decide that one. God gave me these two and if He wants me to have another one that I'll take it with great honor. If not, I'll spend each and every moment soaking in the childhood of my two miracles.
In all the drama that is my life, I missed the fact that Whit is now 20 months old! :) In four short months, he will be a 2 year old. I cannot believe that! I don't like to think about that actually. It makes me sad!! I remember thinking how big Kennedy was when she was this age. Whit's not big. He is still my BABY!
Trains are one of his favorite things these days. I am amazed at the fact that he can put an entire track together. This night I went in his room and he had done all of this himself. What a big boy! We've spent a lot of time with a cold the past few weeks. He is a professional at breathing treatments. Kennedy said this morning, "Mommy, don't forget Whit's breathing treatment!" That is funny to hear from a 3 year old!! He's not a big fan of these late in the day. He tolerates them though. He also learned what medicine is and can say, plain as day, "Medicine!" It is super cute.

He talks so much there is no way for me to list his words. He's like his sister in that area. She might have been a little ahead of him at this point. I can carry on full conversations with him and I know he understands what I say. If he doesn't he asks again. His words are becoming clearer and clearer. You might not understand, "scrawbeberry" but to me it totally means strawberry. I love this stage so much. I love watching them expand their knowledge and how excited they get about it. It makes me happy!!

And not to leave out Miss Priss, our queen of frills and bows! She is so much fun. She gets mad at that brother of hers, but for the most part they get along. They pretend together now and it is so sweet. Last night they had a pajama party and pretended to go to sleep. Whit went right along with it. She also turned him into a dog, which he proudly crawled around the house barking after her. Again, this makes me happy.

I am blessed. What a wonderful life it is to have all I ever dreamed of. Don't get me wrong, I still dream of a HUGE house, being able to shop for whatever I want, a clean house all the time....there are things I wish for, but these children, these moments, these are what my true dreams are made of. I am blessed.Tuesday, March 9, 2010
A Kennedy Hug
I put Whit down tonight and he was screaming. My stomach drops because my last vision of this happening he threw himself out of his crib. I think forever I am going to be scarred from that moment. His crib has been lowered to as low as it will go but I just don't feel safe putting him down in it. I am standing outside his room just listening. Kennedy comes up to me and says, "It's ok Mommy. Don't be scared. Come here. You need a Kennedy hug." Then I get a sweet little girl hug. What would I do without her????!!!!

My gymnast
I hope he doesn't grow up to be one. This is a story to document a big moment for Whit. It was one of my lowest moments as a parent. This and kennedy's broken arm really are the scariest thus far.
Whit would not take a nap Saturday. He finally fell asleep for about an hour but woke up really cranky. His eyes were swollen he was still so tired. So, I, the good mother, take him back to his crib. I place my crying baby in his crib and kiss him. He is really mad at me at this point. This is where I walk away. Then I see my worst fear. He reaches for me while screaming, pushes with all his might, and throws himself out of his crib! I watched as my child somersaulted to the floor. This is where my heart stops beating and I rush to retrieve my child that I know has broken every bone in his body. He is screaming, I am screaming, Greg is running because I am screaming. I don't have much clue what happened after this. We discovered he could still move and seemed fine. He was just upset because it scared him and I think my reaction was not the greatest one. There are moments that you can replay over and over and this is one that will never leave me. I'm thankful he was ok!
Whit, I know you are a boy with super human strength and throughout life you will make my heart stop with the things you do. But, will you please, please, take it easy on Mommy? I don't know how much of this I can take!
I think a big boy bed is in our very near future.
Kennedy wakes up at least 20 minutes after I have calmed Whit down. Please remember at one point I am SCREAMING at the top of my lungs. She prances in from her nap and says, "Is Whit ok, Mommy? What's everyone screaming about?" :) Such a good big sister. :)
