Counting down....

The countdown is on to baby brother's arrival. Still no official name decision. I guess we are just waiting to see him and hopefully we will know! He does have a cute monogrammed onsie that says little brother and k has a big sister shirt to match. That will have to do with the monogramming so far for him! Poor thing will just be known as little brother forever! The reality of having 2 children is starting to hit me today. I know that all will be wonderful I just worry about my sweet K and how she will react. I spend my days cherishing everything she does like I am never going to see her again! How retarded am I? I know I have enough love to go around, it is just hard to imagine sometimes. Greg said today how much of a control freak I am with Kennedy and he is right. I want to do everything by myself. I like it that way. That is going to be hard to do with 2 children under 2! I guess I will have to give up and ask for a little help! I have a lot of it around here! For that I am very thankful! So as I step into my last days of my pregnancy please pray for a peace for me. That God will give me the reassurance that I can handle all that is to come. I can't wait to hold my sweet baby in my arms!! I go tomorrow to the doctor. I will update on that when I get home. Maybe we are making some good progress!

I took this pic of K and Riley tonight before bed. Riley has been snuggling Kennedy when we settle down at night and K loves it! They are such good friends!

Is she going to treat him like this?!!! :)

I was bored last night and thought I would try to catch Kennedy playing with her baby. It is so sweet. She will rock them and love on them. But instead I caught this on video.... I don't think she was much in the mood for her baby! I hope she doesn't treat her brother like this!

Baby Brother Update

First, I think he might have a name. Nothing official yet, but I think we might agree on one! Isn't that exciting!! Ask me tomorrow and I might not say the same thing. He might still be baby no name! I went to the doctor today and I was 2cm dilated! I was so proud of myself. I have never been 2 cm dilated without drugs making me do that so this is an accomplishment for me! Very strange thing to be proud of I know, but I am so proud of myself anyways! It could still be a while before he comes, but this gives me a little hope he will come on his own rather than having to be induced. I really would like to go into labor on my own. We'll see how that goes. I called greg after I left the doctor today and I told him how dilated I was and in true greg form, he goes, "WHAT?" I swear I don't think he realizes we are having a baby. My dear greg, reality will crash down on you all too soon my love......

I'll keep you updated if anything changes!

The joys of pregnancy...

The title of this post is not a joke! :) I really want to document the good things about pregnancy. Greg and I have discussed having 2 children with the possibility of a third on down the road (he says 2 is enough, I say you never know) so this could very possibly be the last weeks of me being pregnant. That is sad to me! First, I would like to thank my sweet unborn son for being so good to me this time! I have carried him much lower than I did with Kennedy so I can breathe so much better. I have not gained near as much weight, which I might need to thank Kennedy for because I run after her all day. I am in general still happy and me, which I never thought I would associate with being pregnant!
I hit 37 weeks yesterday so the countdown is on! It is an exciting time waiting to meet the little one that has been with only me for so long. We wonder what he will look like, what type of personality he will have, and so much more. I can't wait to just hold him in my arms. Greg hasn't yet realized we are having a baby so it will be a shocking experience for him to hold his son for the first time! He'll fall in love in an instant! Being pregnant has been one of the great blessings in my life. For so long we didn't know if we would ever have children and here I am having my second child! God has truly blessed my family in more ways than I can ever say. There is something so special about being a mom and it starts the instant you find out you are pregnant. A bond is formed from the very beginning. Baby brother and I have a great relationship so far! He spends his days wiggling around, listening to his crazy sister, and kicking me with that tiny foot. He will press against me and I push back, he wiggles around and does it again. I'll miss those moments of things only we can share! So as I walk through my last days of pregnancy, I hope that I will try to enjoy them. I know all too soon he will be here growing so fast and before we can blink he will be yelling, "mommy, dada!"

My Girl!

I just wanted to share a picture of my favorite little girl! She was too cute this morning before church!

37 weeks and finally....PERFECTION!

That' right folks....the nursery is DONE!! All we are missing is his name (still no decision on that one) that I am putting on the board behind his bed and the window treatments that are being made. I would like to first thank all of my hard workers today! My mom came up and helped me finish the nursery and Susan and Bruce worked like slaves with Greg in the garage. We have filled it with all the things we couldn't fit in our house anymore and it was a mess! It looks fabulous! We are so thankful to have wonderful families that are so supportive of us! Thanks to all of you! I took forever deciding what to do with his nursery. I knew first thing what I wanted with Kennedy, but a boy was so much harder. I really hate themed rooms. Then I found this bedding and themed the heck out of the room! Who knew? I am so pleased with the final results. A big thanks to MeMe for her creative touches. She takes responsibility for the whole thing over the changing table which turned out so cute! :) I know 37 weeks is a little late to be finishing our nursery, but better late than never I say! We are ready to have a BABY!! Yay! :)

Happy 4th of July!

We had a nice 4th yesterday! Kennedy enjoyed it to its fullest I think! She stayed up until 10:00 which is unheard of around here! We started the day at MeMa's, or Nette, as Kennedy called her. She enjoyed the pool and hamburgers. Then we all came home for naps. At least K and I napped. :) Then we were off to a cookout at a friends house and then the park for fireworks! I think all the kids had a good time! She really liked the fireworks. She would clap after they shot off. Even Drew liked the fireworks! Who would have thought? :) And I made it walking from SuSu and Poppa's house without going into labor or anything! No major problems. :) Today is get ready for baby brother day. Greg is cleaning out the garage with the help of SuSu and Poppa. We are also getting all the baby things down from the attic. My mom is on her way to help me finish the nursery. I am very excited about that! It will be done by today! She is also making me wash some of his things, get his bag packed, etc... I think the mothers are telling us we have a few things to do! I welcome the help! Things are so hard for me to do at this point! Have a good day, I will post pics of the nursery later!
