And she's off!

Well today is a big day for baby Kennedy! She is crawling! I knew it would be soon, but i never thought she would just hit the ground running! :) Drew had a bit of a spill tonight and Chad is out of town so we went over to check on him. I was about to put Kennedy in the bath so she was half dressed. I put her on the floor while we all checked on Drew. He had a big bump on his head, poor thing! Kennedy in the meantime was just sitting in the floor in her diaper. Greg and I were sitting in the floor and she looked at the phone across the floor and she crawled right over to it! Of course we kept throwing the phone across the room and every time she would make it over there. We came home to capture the big moment on video. She is know sleeping away, I am sure dreaming of her new skill and all that it will bring tomorrow!

Lazy Saturday

Here's what's going on at my house right now. I couldn't resist taking a picture. Precious moments....

9 Months and Polka Dotted...

Well, I will never state that it is a calm week in the Olliff house every again! My birthday started off calmly and turned into a crazy day. Kennedy had a little rash on her face when I dropped her off and by the afternoon she looked like she had soaked in poison ivy she was so spotted. Of course I overreacted and rushed her to the doctor. I had to see a doctor I had never seen and she was not my favorite ever. Ok, I will be honest. I said some very mean things about her when I left and I still won't take them back. I will not put them in print though. Long story short, she was diagnosed with a virus and was told she would be fine. I cried all the way home. I think I was just overwhelmed and I hate that stupid doctor. It was a very stressful birthday. I am glad to have it behind me. So much for a calm day! I hope my year is not as crazy as the big 29th birthday!

Today is Kennedy's 9 month birthday. Staying with tradition we had our photo session despite the rash all over her! So here are a few pics we took today. I can't believe she is 9 months old!

Happy Birthday to Me! Tomorrow! :)

Well, the Olliff homestead has had a calm week for a change. It has been nice. I am posting tonight to remind all of my readers to remember my birthday tomorrow. Throughout the years, I have had countdowns starting on Sept 1 to let everyone know about the big day and how many days were left. I will never be one to not acknowledge my birthday and hope everyone remembers. I will just let you know so you don't forget! It is funny how important your birthday is when you are a kid. I still look forward to the big day every year. It has taken on a new meaning. I do love to be the center of attention for a day, those of you who know me have always known that, but my birthday is much more than that. It had that magical feeling for so long. Then I began to look forward to a new age, like 16, wow! I could drive or the big 21! Then I started thinking, man I am getting old. I have always been the oldest in my group of friends. That tradition has carried on into my adulthood. It used to be a good thing. I was 16 first. I was 21 first. But 29?
Tomorrow I begin my last year in my twenties. Sounds really old, right? So as I begin another wonderful year of life I am celebrating much more than my age. It is a day to look at my life and celebrate my blessings. I look forward to hearing from all my friends. I have always loved my birthday so much because I get to hear from everyone I love. That is better than any gift you can get. I look at my life sometimes and have to blink to make sure everything is still real. Every moment I look at my precious Kennedy, I smile and thank God for placing her in my life. Not every moment is bright and shiny, but I do search out the good rather than the bad. I know I am blessed. I have dear friends, old and new, and a wonderful family.
I look back on the past few years and realize all of the things I worried about I could have spent my time doing other things. God had a plan greater than I could have ever imagined and I just couldn't be patient and wait on Him. I'm glad we had to wait. It makes those moments when I see Greg take Kennedy and they play like there is nothing else around them, or when I sit in her room all painted and perfect and think of all the times I prayed for her in that room, when I realize it was all worth it. Every moment. So this year, I vow to take every moment and breathe it in. Even those crazy moments in Mrs. Olliff's classroom. I'll breathe those in too. Life is what we make it. We are only as old as we act. I love my age, my life, my friends, my family. Thank you for being a part of it. I look forward to all that comes our way!

I am posting a picture from tonight. She was so tired when we got home from church she was sucking her finger and wouldn't wake up for her bath! Crazy baby!

Dedicated to Daddy

Greg and I keep laughing really hard at this picture so I thought everyone needed to join in the fun. Greg took this (yes, I actually let him use the camera again) the night she was running that horrible 103 temp. She had already been to bed and was up again. She was totally dazed and confused! I am also including the picture of her after she made that face so you can see that we aren't totally cruel to our baby and make fun of her when she is feeling bad! We title this photo, "Never too young to catch an attitude." It says it all by the look in her eyes!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DREW!

Today was Drew's first birthday party. We had a good time! I took a ton of pictures and I thought I would post a few!

Party Time!

Kennedy watched Drew open presents and took notes. Check out her new shoes. We got those today. It is her first pair of real shoes. We didn't wear any this summer and she was too little last year. These are big girl shoes she can walk in! We should probally learn to crawl first....

Kennedy enjoyed the little piggie cupcakes!

Drew loved the wrapping to his presents!

We tried really hard to get all the babies to sit and take a photo. This was all we got! They had fun playing with all the new toys. It reminded me of Christmas!

Kennedy had fun with her daddy!

Much better!

Well, after another sick day with Daddy on Friday, Kennedy is doing much better. That ear infection really got her down! She ran a fever yesterday morning and I was planning on everything being back to normal. She has been fever free for 24 hours now, so all is good just in time for Drewbie's 1st birthday party! She is busy napping away right now getting ready for it. I will be sure to post pictures later. Have a good lazy Saturday!
