He only has eyes for ME! :)

Being a mom is by far the best title I have ever held. I love these babies so very much. I was tucking Whit in tonight and he always begs for me to lay down with him for a few minutes. He actually asks for 16 minutes. Most nights, I say ok, and climb in and rub his back for a few minutes. Tonight he says, "Lay down for 16 minutes, then we can just talk." Then this precious little boy, lays there and just grins at me, with more adoration than I even deserve in his three year old eyes. I can't help but fast forward to the future where he won't stop and adore me like that anymore. I want to soak every single minute of this in. This little boy, all 36 pounds of him, loves me so very much. I hope I can always remember that look that he gives me now. He's always adored me like that. I loved how he would look up at me when he was a baby, and now he is filled with words and still that sweet look. It's something that I haven't captured on film, but it is truly etched in my heart forever. I took a moment tonight and thanked God for you, my Whit. I am thankful for each and every moment we share with you. I don't deserve to be your mom, but I am SO thankful God gave you to us. I hope that when you are all grown up, you still know how much I adore you. I'll never forget the way you love us. What a precious boy you are!

Neighbors :)

We are fully aware that some of you make fun of us. You might think we are a bit to close. ;) Yet, if you truly lived next door to your best friends you would understand. Jen and I are realizing this little piece of heaven is not going to last forever. I can't even think about it. We both want bigger houses, yet our way of life is truly PERFECT! I am so thankful for our friendship. We dreamed that our children would be close and they truly are. They might as well be siblings. I am so very blessed. You can keep talking about us. We don't care. We've got it made.....;) I think the ones that benefit the most are the littlest Prossers and Olliffs. There is not a moment that they don't have an instant friend there to play. Now, fights do break out here quite often, but we like to think we are raising kids that can handle any situation. It just makes them tougher. ;) Here's what a regular old Sunday afternoon looks like around here. It was followed by a chicken sandwhich dinner of course. :)

Easter

Tonight I read a children's book about Easter. My kids sat in awe of every word I read. Kennedy really was concerned about how exaclty they put the nails in Jesus's hands. Whit was very upset about the whole situation. I loved every minute of the discussion. It is rare that we are all calm enough to have a conversation like that. If one is listening, usually the other one is acting silly. Yet, tonight, they both sat wide eyed as I read the story. They asked very thoughtful questions and we talked about them. I am so thankful for my faith. It has grown so much through the years. I can't remember at time where I didn't believe in our God, but I know their are times that I have doubted his love. I don't ever doubt anymore. I just place my life in His hands. It's the safest place I know. I do have lots of questions for Him when I meet Him face to face, but until then, I will continue to try to grow in my faith and trust Him. He's done nothing but bless me thus far. As my conversation with my children tonight unfolded, I am sure He is smiling down on us. Those sweet innocent children.....already growing in faith. It is yet again even more than I could ask for. I serve a God that I don't deserve, but yet, I continue to be blessed. I am so humbled and thankful tonight.

Kennedy and Whit, may you always have the hunger for learning about God that you do right now. I love you both so dearly! :)

HUMBLED

I joined our service league about three years ago. I remember feeling so overwhelmed. I had a new baby and thought, what did I sign up for? I can't do this! Each year I have loved it even more. Kennedy is now old enough for me to explain to her what I am going to do. I try to tell her when I am going to one of my projects in a way she understands. Today was soup kitchen so I told her I was going to make food for people that didn't have any. I think it is so good for her to see me give my time for others. It is actually pretty funny when I am going to do something with friends and she asks, "are you going to do good things for people, Mommy?" I laugh and say, "No, not tonight, just going to dinner with my friends!" hahaha!

Today I worked the soup kitchen. I was passing out meals when one man asked me my name. Then he asks me if I am a college student. I laughed and informed him I am actually a teacher and a grown up :), but thanked him for making my day. He asked me my name and really took note of it. He introduced himself to me, told me about his family, and on the way out he says, "You are doing a good thing here, Miss Katie. God bless you." Then off he went. I walked back in so very humbled. Not 5 minutes later we saw him at the road, with his meal everywhere, (he had dropped his lunch because he was on a bike). I sprinted across the parking lot to give him another one. I helped him salvage his meal and gave him another one. He grinned at me and said, "Thank you so much Miss Katie." I think it might have taken me an hour to walk back. I can't for the life of me remember his name. He took that small conversation and made a point to remember the lady that made the time to put his lunch together and give it to him. Yet, somehow he blessed me even more than I did him. I hate being away from my kids. I love to just sit around on Saturdays. I had a ton of laundry to do, but God had me there today. He had me there to meet the man that I can't remember his name, but I will not forget him or forget to pray for him now. It's moments like these that I am humbled and so proud to be part of service league. I hope I am teaching my kids to give of their time, even when they don't think they have time. You get back so much more than you give.

God bless! Happy Saturday!

TROUBLE!

If you can ever catch these two close enough to be in the same frame, then I guarantee that trouble will follow......or at least some loud screaming or crying. It always happens. The drama queen and the trouble maker.....together they can conquer the world! ;) You better watch out!!!

A Box

A box of pictures came in the mail today from my Aunt and Uncle. It meant a lot to me that they thought I would like some of Mama's old pictures. It was a random assortment of pictures, some of her as child, lots of my dad. It amazed me how much Whit looks like him! Some that I remember hanging in her house.......then I got to the ones of me and I couldn't hold it together anymore. It is because she had them neatly labeled in her handwriting that is unmistakable to me. Each moment for me was so important to her too. I think we lose touch with that as kids. I didn't realize my senior night was so important to her. Every step I took meant something to her and realizing that today made me weep. Kennedy said, "what's the matter Mommy? You miss her? It's ok. " and gives me a huge hug. I miss her so very much. 5 years later, the tears still fall for someone that was so very important to me. I missed her funeral because I was like 100 weeks pregnant with Kennedy so closure for me has been hard. It was just a box. Yet, in that box was such a gift. Thank you Aunt Judy and Uncle Jeff for sending it. I needed a reminder today that she is still looking after me. I love her so dearly. I am so very blessed. I hope by having this blog that I am leaving a legacy for those that are in my life. It's one of the reasons I continue to write here. It's just a blog of my words, but for my babies I hope it becomes much more. Just like my box that arrived today.

Just to prove I exist too! I am so blessed to have two wonderful sisters-in-law. :) I always wanted a sister of my own!
