I didn't realize it until after he went to bed!! Whit is officially 18 months today!! I took absolutely no pictures of him today! BOO on me! I will update tomorrow with a few pics of this sweet boy. Here's a few examples of how Whit spent his big day of turning 1 and a half.
I picked him up in the nursery to see him playing happily!! This is huge because Whit hates church. What was he playing with? A nice pink stroller. :)
We went to lunch to celebrate his Poppa's birthday. He enjoyed the company but decided to throw everything on the floor. When I say everything, I mean everything. He finally decided he would eat applesauce. I might stop taking him in public.
After nap time he woke up in the best mood. I was in the bed reading a book (oh yes I said in bed) Greg was watching something on TV so Whit snuggled us for a little bit. He kept yelling for Kennedy and I told him she was asleep. He yells, "Lennely!! Ssshhhhh!" Then in a whisper says, "Lennely, sshhhh."
I love his conversations lately. They make so much sense but are missing so many words. He will say Daddy, Mommy but mean something like, Daddy sits here and Mommy sits here. It is neat to see him growing and changing. I totally speak fluent Whit. :)
Kennedy is not enjoying it as much. My favorite moment from today was when he looked at her and clearly says, "Lennely, MOVE!" She looked at him startled at first because he actually made sense. Then got mad that he told her what to do.
I love this. There are moments I hate when i am busy or my house is a mess....but I truly, truly love this.

Just Beautiful

You study your child. You know every inch of them. You think there is no other child on earth that is quite that wonderful. Sometimes I capture that in a picture and this is one of them. She's just beautiful, my Kennedy. Those sweet brown eyes, that crazy hair, those perfectly painted fingernails that she insists that we paint pink, the perfect big bow, that face that looks just like her daddy.....she is absolutely, 100 % just beautiful. At least I think so....:)
Whitisms
I always like to look back at Kennedy's little conversations I document on here. There is something amazing about this baby that you brought into the world learning to talk. When they can finally look at you and you understand and so do they it is amazing!! Here are some recent Whit conversations....
Kennedy: What Whit?
Whit: Lenely, mon! Lenely, mon! MON!
Translation: Kennedy, come on! Kennedy, come on!!
While I was putting Whit to bed for a nap. Greg hands him to me and Whit says, "Mommy, (pats my chest here) Daddy (points to the door), Daddy go, Mommy (pats me again here and lays his head on my chest.)
Translation: Mommy's here, Daddy was here, Daddy left, I have Mommy (in a very proud way) :)
Oh, my, I love this baby. :)

When did this happen?!!!!!!!!!!!!

You blink and they are grown. :( I turned around to find this today. They were brushing their teeth together. All BY THEMSELVES!!!!!!!! She was in charge of the toothpaste and the water. He was along for the ride. I remember the day I first looked at Kennedy and saw more of a little girl than a baby. Now, it's his turn. He's more boy than baby. My babies....growing up TOO fast!! Let me soak it all in.....Good thing it is Saturday and we can play all day! :)
Tricycle!
Kennedy has been working hard at learning how to ride that tricycle!! :) Sorry for the blurriness of the pic. I was trying to take pictures but I had to be right beside her while she was working on riding this thing. Who knew a tricycle was hard to ride? My precious daughter...not so coordinated right now. We are working on it. I am thinking sports might not be her thing. She acts like me when you throw a ball at her. She just looks at it. Ha! She does have some pretty good dance moves when playing the dance game on the Wii. I am keeping my fingers crossed about ballet next year! :)

Bring on the words!!!
Hello two word phrases. :) Whit has been such a chatterbox lately. Maybe he couldn't hear! He passed his hearing test just fine but now I am starting to see just how much that fluid was affecting him. He looks at me differently when I talk now. He studies what we say. His favorite phrase is "Mommy, no! No, Mommy!" Today he said, "Cookie, bite?" They are muffins, Whit. :) I also love, "Papi? Night night?" He knows the paci means it is night time, that addict. My favorite thing is the way he says Kennedy. It is hard to describe but it is like he sings it. It makes me happy. This mommy is happy that her boy can hear. I am happy that he is now expanding that mind and letting us know what he thinks about the world. I did not enjoy it at TJ Maxx today while he was in the buggy screaming, "NO, CHOO CHOO!" because he didn't want to be at TJ Maxx and wanted to go down the shopping center to Books a Million and play with the trains. How did he know that?!!! :)
P.S. We totally went and played with the trains.

Little but Strong!

He's pretty tough, this little boy. The day of surgery was awful. He was so pitiful. That next morning he woke up and never remembered it! He is finally taking medicine again. He was a fighter about that as well. He didn't like the pain meds they had him on so he tried to boycott the rest of his meds. We stuffed it all in, not to worry! My main issue is these darn ear plugs. He HATES them. My dad simply says, "Have you told him why he is wearing them?" My reply, "No, Dad, he is 17 months old." :) Well, it is worth a try. So, I sit down with a 17 month old and explain that the doctor fixed his ears. I showed him the earplugs and told him the doctor said he has to wear them. He points to his ears the whole time I am telling him this and listening intently. I then try to put one in and to my complete surprise he lets me! He touches it and looks at me. Then I tell him we will do bubbles in the bath if he keeps them in. He lets me put the other one in, touches it and says, "BUBBLES!" as he runs to the bath tub. Wow. I was a bit speechless because I totally underestimated the brain of my baby. He doesn't speak as much as Kennedy, but he knows what is going on. I don't give him enough credit. I'm proud of you Whit. Gosh, you are getting to be such a BIG boy!
