Why do we love being teachers? SUMMER!!

That is not the only reason I love being a teacher. I do love to work with children and it means a lot to me to be involved in the children's lives. But today, the celebration is SUMMER VACATION! 8 weeks of nothing but pools, playing, reading, doing whatever I want! :) That is one of the great perks of the job. Today we are officially on summer break and it feels great! I would also like to add that I am also starting my "maternity leave" today. Just when summer ends, I am due so I will be out. Perfect timing! :) So happy summer to you all! I wish you all could join me at the pool! If you have to work, at least we can play on the weekends!

17 Months...the good life!

Kennedy is officially 17 months old today! She really does live the good life these days. She is into the world around her and enjoys everything you take her to do. She has found her tongue and likes to show that to you if you ask. You also get to see it if you ask to see her teeth. You will get a response like the first picture. As I took her pictures tonight I thought how perfect they are to truly represent how she is these days. So let me take you through the range of emotions my kennedy experiences on a daily basis! This is a look into her world!

She is mostly happy all the time, giggling, and laughing at everything!
You might catch her being silly and playing around. She loves her DaDa and Mommy!

Then in the blink of an eye this might happen. This was a short "Katie" fit. It was over the fact that she couldn't get a shoe to fit on her foot. And when I tried to help it made her even more mad.

Two seconds later, literally, this was two seconds later, she is smiley and happy again. Cycle to be repeated.....

She is growing up so fast! My little baby who depended so much on me for so long is now taking her steps into the world on her own. She makes decisions, has her own opinions on a lot of things, pitches some great fits, gives so much love, and teaches us everyday to enjoy life. What a joy to be her mom and watch her grow! You bring me GREAT joy my Kennedy!

Happy Birthday Aunt Courtney!!

Kennedy wanted to play a little tune for Aunt Courtney's birthday! She even gave you the piano when she was done! Wasn't that nice? FYI every time we took the video she wanted to watch it and every time she watched it she said hi to you. You will just have to imagine that! :)We hope you had a great birthday! 26 is going to be a GREAT year! :) We love you!

The "Island"

We decided to take a spur of the moment trip to the beach this weekend. Our first stop was the coast with SuSu, Brucie, Uncle Mike, and Aunt Deborah. Then we headed down to Darien to visit MeMe and Pops. I will say that my mom is always saying how she appreciates living on the coast, and this weekend was fun to be able to go so many places and jump into the ocean whenever we wanted. And we didn't have to drive very far at all! It is nice to live near the coast! We went to St. Simon's today to give Kennedy a little more beach time. She should be full of ocean water by now after this weekend! She of course had a huge time in the waves. We were there for high tide which I feel like never happens when i am on the island. K jumped and laughed in the waves. I love the picture of her with mom. They both were laughing so hard! Sweet moments! I don't remember if my grandparents were ever young enough to jump in the waves with me! She spent some daddy time playing in the waves and giggling. We also got to see Banks on the island. The were there for the weekend and on their way out. It was their first beach time together! After all the fun, right around 1, her naptime, she was in the ocean with MeMe and starts to say goodbye to it. She had enough I guess! So we packed up and headed home. She is currently fast asleep dreaming of her great weekend at the beach I am sure. We are going to have a fun summer chasing this baby around. I do need to take some time to finish my nursery...someone call and check on my status of doing that please!

The "Coast"

Stop one of our weekend was the "Coast."
I put it in quotations because everyone here just refers to it as the coast. I mean, do they realize how many "the coasts" there are in the world? Are you in Maine? They have a coast. Are you in Hawaii? They obviously have a coast. :) Anyways we went to the "coast", as people around here say it, for the first time on Sunday. We had a lot of fun! Kennedy had her first boat ride on Aunt Deborah and Uncle Mikey's boat. She did not like the life jacket at first, but loved the ride. The bumpier it got, the happier she was! I the giant pregnant one was worried I would wet my pants on every bump, but K was laughing! She had a big time playing with friends on the beach. I love the picture of her with Mike. She loves the water so much and apparently she really loves Uncle Mikey! :) We headed home and she had missed nap time. She passed out on the way back in that big life jacket she hated so much. Tired baby! Thanks for having us Aunt Deborah and Uncle Mike!

Oh, how I love summer!

This was one of my favorite pictures from today. I am posting it for screen saver purposes for myself at work. I added a whole slideshow below. K justs loves the water! :)

Happy Summer Everyone!! I am SO glad school is out! Praise the Lord!!!!!!! Now all I need to do is play with Kennedy and get ready for this baby to get here. I think I can handle those jobs! :)

Pool Time!

We went on our first journey to MeMa's today! I was worried it would be too cold. I put Kennedy's feet in first and she immediatly demanded that she go all the way in! She loved the water, my little water bug! She even stuck her face in and tried her best to swim. I think our summer is going to be lots of fun! It is times like these where I am so thankful for my summers off. I don't know what I would do if I had to work! I officially go on summer break on Thursday so it will be me, Kennedy and the pool for the rest of the summer. She is one of my favorite people to hang out with! :) I took a ton of pictures today. I couldn't resist the good shots! Enjoy our day!
