Whit has finally started saying his prayers on his own every night. I love to hear them say it. It is one of the sweetest moments of the day. When we are done we always thank God for whatever they want to last night it goes like this.....
Thank you God for my trucks, for big blue plates (he is really into eating off of the big blue plate), and make Anna Hays cancer better and Aunt Tonya.
Then he went into some random giggle about something silly so he didn't have to go to bed. For me though it had such meaning. We've been praying away cancer for over a year now around here with our children. It has taught them so much about how to pray for the ones we love. And it makes my heart happy to hear him remember two very special people to pray for and to continue to pray that cancer away.
God Bless you Whit, you precious boy. All the time I chase you around, tell you to talk quietly, to stop hitting......may I remember moments like this. :)
You don't choose your family. They are God's gift to you, as you are to them. ~Desmond Tutu

Living
We had such a nice Saturday today. The kids spent the night with SuSu and Poppa last night. I went for a nice run this morning and then we went to get them. K and I did a little shopping. I found some super deals on shorts for Whit. For some reason I am missing like 3 pairs of his shorts. It was weird! We came home and the kids went down for a nap. My kids go 90 to nothing all day long. I swear Whit falls asleep while jumping up and down. This moment is rare. A sweet, quiet sleeping boy.......all cuddled up. (and in his pull up too) I love these moments. Life is so busy, and they grow so fast. But sometimes, I do take the time to enjoy the moment I am in. It's a busy life, but how can you feel overwhelmed when you have this in your house? :)
And then he woke up....;)
We spent the evening with the kids, grilled out, played in the yard. It was SO nice!

A little bike ride before bed...
Kennedy wanted to watch the sunset. When is the last time I took time to watch a sunset from my front yard? I can't even remember!
I think so many times life flies by and we don't stop to appreciate it. We have friends who have a daughter battling cancer. She's 3. I think so much of how Tonya's cancer changed me. I think about how each and every experience I have walked through has changed me. Losing my first baby made me a different person. I am SO very thankful for my path to motherhood. I can't wait to meet that precious baby someday. He or she changed my life. Cancer has changed our lives. It's all made us realize that life is about living. Don't get me wrong, I do get overwhelmed. I do feel like I don't have enough hours in the day. I feel like I don't make enough time for what is important. But, on days like these, where we stop and watch a sunset with our babies, its knowing that life's moments are precious is what matters. I need to stop more. I need to appreciate more. I need to tell them I love them more. We need to watch more sunsets. What a precious God I serve, to give me the joys of my heart. He gave me all I desired and more. I am so very GLAD we have our faith in Him. It is Christ that is holding our sweet friend, Anna Hays, as she battles cancer. It is He who healed Tonya. It is He who holds my precious first baby until I get to hold it someday. I am one thankful mommy yet again today. I am thankful for living. Thank you God for giving us this day. To quote my mother and some scripture at the same time, "This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it. " I am glad we take the time to rejoice.

School Pictures
School's in full swing around here! I realized I forgot to upload pics here! Kennedy is LOVING pre-k. She has had no issues adjusting to big girl school. Well, she does have issues but that with getting up and having to get dressed. Homegirl would like to stay in her jammies all day. ;) Whit finally stopped crying when he was dropped off. It takes 2 weeks. He cries for 2 solid weeks to make the person dropping him off feel bad, then realizes it is not going to change, so he stops and enjoys it. It was a 35 second cry and then he had a great day. He does it for our benefit. That boy has us wrapped! I hope they always enjoy school this much. I always LOVED school. I still do! :) Can't believe these babies are getting this old!

BLOG? What blog?
I should be ashamed. It has been forever since I blogged. I partially blame it on going back to school. I also blame the ipad. I don't have the patience to type on that thing and it is my favorite thing to use for facebook so I use it more than my computer. I need to not make excuses. I'll just try to keep up. There is just so much spinning in my mind lately. I have a prayer list so long that I need to look at it to remember to pray for everything I want to. My get rid of cancer list is getting longer and longer and it infuriates me. We had a friend who's daugther was recently diagnosed with leukemia. I am currently praying hard for Tonya, for another friend going through thyroid cancer, and now one of Whit's sweet friends? If I could take cancer and kick it in the face, I seriously would love to do that. I have learned so much this year about how to pray. I truly believe in claiming healing in God's name. We have wonderful doctors, medicine, and treatments, but our ultimate healer is in control. I have talked about it before, but I truly believe I know the moment Tonya was healed of her cancer. You might think I am crazy, but I felt the prescence of God during the prayer that was prayed for her. I felt it stronger at that moment than any other moment in my life. I like to think that is the moment that a woman so strong in her faith could claim God's healing on Tonya. So when I pray now, for all the cancer patients in my life, I pray that same prayer. I claim God's healing on these women and this precious child going through treatment.
Our lives as mom's are busy. My days consist of a work out (if I make myself get up), breakfast, getting them dressed, somehow making myself presentable, getting kids to school, getting myself to school, working a full day, cheerleading after school, afterschool activities for my kids, dinner, baths, errands, the list goes on and on.....It is easy to get bogged down. It is very easy to get overwhelmed. Yet, at the end of the day, when I tuck my kids in and go back after they are asleep to kiss them just one more time, I remember the important things. We are all healthy. I have two beautiful healthy children. All my family lives under this roof safe and sound. I am one blessed Mommy. I hope tomorrow I don't forget that. I hope I don't get so overwhelmed that I forget to be thankful. I am so incredibly thankful for each day I have here on Earth. Who knows when something unexpected will fall in our laps? I do know my faith in God, and with that I think we can handle anything. I'll just take each precious day as a gift and look forward to what God has in store for us. And each night before I go to sleep, I will continue to say prayers for my friends that are suffering. I'll pray as hard as I know how. When I don't know what else to do, I'll pray.
So that's my update. Busy and praying. ;) Maybe I'll get around to taking some pictures and posting them. We shall see....
