4 year old preschool!

Whit started his last year of preschool!  He was not in a photo op mood that morning. He insisted on having a fish balloon in the picture! hahaha!  He is LOVING school this year.  He is in his last year at FUMC and I am so glad we chose to stay there one more year.  Mrs. Kathy is so wonderful with him.  He walks right in with a smile on his face and this is a big change from last year. I can see such a change in him already. He is so much more independent and brave.  We are so proud of you Whitty!  When I talking to K about school behavior Whit always says, "I do not say one single word at school!:  At least I have one quiet one. :)

The Bow Brigade

This is my favorite picture of them!  Here they are on their first day of Kindergarten.  Wynn, Kennedy, and Bailey.  Such sweet, sweet friends!  All I can see is trouble when I look at this!  Those are some pretty awesome bows aren't they? :)

KINDERGARTEN!

August 1, 2012.....her very first day of Kindergarten!  I walked her in to her classroom and she was so happy.  She was not scared one bit!  I am so very proud of my little girl!  She had so much fun on her first day in Mrs. Tracey Vickery's room.  She has some of her very best friends in her class which makes this year extra special.

So far the only complaints I get from school is that she won't stop talking!!  KENNEDY? REALLY?  no, shocker there by any means. I am finding it quite difficult to monitor what she does there from home.  I am fully aware I am a talker but I would like the record to show I was never like that at school!  I am paying for the Greg Olliff gene here.  She looks like him and talks like him. ;)  She still loves school and learning so much and it is my hope, and prayer, that she always feels like that. I have always, always, loved school.  It is so much fun to be to be challenged.  I think that is why I loved math so much. I love a problem to figure out!

So, my precious Kennedy, you are making my life harder by the day.  You come home trying to hide your folder which will tell me what happened today.  Then you tell me all about how you got your number on the board, but you were not playing in the bathroom like Mrs. Tracey said!  You might be the death of me, but through it all, I have to just sit back and laugh.  You are full of such spice. You will NEVER let anyone run over you or treat you badly without standing up for yourself.  You truly LOVE your sweet friends and just want to spend your day enjoying your time with them.  You are loving learning to read.  I am trying my best to show you good school behavior.  I have a funny feeling it is a battle I am going to fight for the next 12 years.  You better thank me someday. :)

Stay tuned to see how this year goes! Wish K (me) luck!

Catching up!

Gosh, the world of facebook has taken my attention away from this blog!  That and the fact we have had  a WONDERFUL summer and I just didn't take the time to sit down and write about it.  So much is going on this week.  This summer has had some great moments!  I'll make sure to do a post on them all eventually!  My sweet Whit turned 4!! I can't believe that!  Greg and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary and actually made time to get away and head to St. Simon's to celebrate for the weekend.  Kennedy begins Kindergarten this week. She is SO ready and I am SO NOT!!  I can't believe that this moment is before us.  Life goes by so incredibly fast.  I am trying to enjoy every minute of it!  This week marks the beginning of my 9th year teaching. It seems like yesterday I decided to go back to school to go into education.  Here I stand 9 years later and I am so very glad I chose to do this!  What a crazy life we lead, but it is so rewarding.  Here's to a great school year! I'll try to catch up on the events of the summer SOON!

A week of FUN!! Prosser-Olliff Beach Vacay 2012

We just got back from our annual beach vacay with the Prosser family.  We started this the first year Kennedy and Drew were born and it has become such a fun tradition.  The week was full of lots of fun!  Throw all these crazy people in a one house and you are bound to be entertained.  Here are some of my favorites of the week. I took a million! I'll post more soon!

Broken! :(

Don't ask me how it happened. I was right there and I still don't know!  I went to pick up Whit from his class at church and he jumped up, tripped over something and would not stop crying for almost 3 hours. He refused to walk on his foot.  We decided it might not hurt to take him to urgent care.  I went and sure enough, he had a fractured foot.  Today we saw the orthopedist.  He is to be in a boot for the next four weeks.  I haven't quite had time for a pitty party, but right now I am so thankful for so many things. He has had such a good attitude about the whole thing! He loves the boot!  His biggest dissapointment is the pool.  We have to wait two weeks and then he might can get in.  I try so hard to have a good attitude about no matter what life throws at us.  Today we were tested, and yet somehow, we are all snuggling on the couch tonight and all I can be is thankful.  It's summer and I can be home with him. I am going to spend the next two weeks carrying my 3 year old around.  Maybe I'll lose a few pounds. :)  I am thankful that it is something that can easily be fixed.  We have one tough little boy. He has only complained a few times about pain. Other than that he is super excited!  He's been crawling around the house all day!  If you can't walk, then he'll find someway to get around!

HAPPY

I am caught tonight in state of nothing but happiness.  I absolutely adore this time of year.  Life is SO very busy and then all of the sudden we approach a finish line which includes at 8 weeks of rest.  Once you make it you are golden.  Don't get me wrong, I do love other seasons of life.  I love the fall and a new start. Christmas brings such happiness, but right now, as summer is at my grasp I am so incredibly happy.  I worry sometimes my bubble is about to burst.  I hope not.  I pray everyday and thank God for all I have been given.  I am so looking forward to spending the summer with friends and family. I can't wait for the kids to have some cousin time.  I can't wait to spend endless hours at the pool with Jen and the kids.  These are moments I will treasure forever.  I hope my children know how much I love spending time with them. This picture says it all.  Stopping to enjoy life, that's whats important.  As we begin our official summer break tomorrow at 3:30, I want to remember how this feels.  I want to remember how important it is to stop.....to stand still.....to look into their eyes knowing we have endless days of fun together.  It's not a perfect world, but my world, is absolutely all I could have asked for.  I have  a husband that loves me maybe more than he should, two children that are true miracles, a roof over our heads, family that loves us unconditionally, friends that are more family than friends......I could go on and on. That in itself is a blessing.  What a wonderful life......I hope each and every one of you takes time to reflect on your blessings.  I hope that one day as my babies read these words they know that I soaked in every moment of their childhoods.  I adore the way Whitty gives me endless kisses. I love the way Kennedy takes time to spend as "girls." It is so important to her!  I am honored to be your mom, my precious babies. I hope you always know that!

Here's to SUMMER 2012!! BRING IT ON!!!!
