My BABY will be 2 in a few weeks. This leaves me a little sad because I realize how fast he is growing up. They say you don't pay attention to the second as much as the first. So far, I have not found that statement true. This little boy demands our attention and we give him just that. In fact, I might just baby him a little too much. I find myself still saying, "Where is the baby?" in reference to Whit. I wonder if I will always say that?....poor Kennedy. She was so never referred to as the baby at 2. Whit already stole that spot for 6 months by then!
He's getting to be such a little boy. He is starting to LOVE the things his daddy does. He is also attached to Greg at the hip. If I had a dollar for
every time I heard, "Wait, Daddy, wait!" I just might be rich. It makes me giggle because Greg is not used to being demanded for by his child. I will try to put him to bed and he says, "No, Mommy, Daddy read book." :) Sweet boy loves that Daddy. He loves golf and baseball. He loves fishing. It's like he is Greg
Olliff in a
Sartin body. I find it quite humorous.
He is talking so much it amazes me. Every parent thinks their child is a
genius. You know you do. They do something and you think, WOW. I bet no other kid this age can do that. I think it is just part of watching them grow and develop. The child that I birthed less than 2 years ago can now carry on a very long drawn out conversation with me. That in itself is pretty amazing. He is well beyond 2 word phrases. He can now talk in sentences minus prepositions. For example he might tell you, "Go Daddy" which translates as "Go with Daddy." Today he came home from golfing and said, "Hit it, like this (swings his arm) turn around, like this (and turns around)" I am not sure how turning around is involved but he is pretty good at describing things. I adore this little age. It does come with its fits, but they all do at some point.
I love this little boy. I'll never forget the day we looked at this house and walking in their rooms thinking that someday they would be filled with our children. Then the days I spent praying in those rooms that God would grant us at least one child to fill the room. We have been twice blessed and this Mommy will always know to appreciate it. They are my little miracles and I am proud to call them mine.
